IBM Cognos Theme Designer can be used to easily create custom styles for several tools in the IBM Cognos 10.2.1 product suite.

The available zip file contains the tool itself, as well as a getting started document that provides detailed instructions on how to use IBM Cognos Theme Designer to create a new style.
The styles produced by this tool are respected by the following products within the IBM Cognos 10.2.1 product suite:
  • Cognos Connection
  • Cognos Administration
  • Cognos Search
  • Cognos Viewer
  • Event Studio

Partial support also exists for Cognos Workspace; however, upgrade of the Cognos Workspace themes will not be supported in the next release.

Prerequisites

IBM Cognos 10.2.1 BI Server has to be installed.

Installation Instructions


  • Download and open the attached zip file. The zip file contains two folders: vers and webcontent. Copy these folders to the root of your IBM Cognos 10.2.1 gateway installation.
  • Ensure your IBM Cognos 10.2.1 server is running.
  • Access IBM Cognos Theme Designer from your favorite web browser by adding /themedesigner to the gateway URI of your server e.g. http://localhost/ibmcognos/themedesigner

How can you extract all user information from Cognos Access Manager Namespace Report Utility and create Cognos Report out of it?

The AM_NamespaceReport Utility allows you to extract the namespace to an XML file. 1. Issue When opening or creating a Framework Manager project the following error message is shown. Additionally, when attempting to create or open a report based on a package is made in Report Studio or Query Studio, the same error message is shown. Error BME-EX-0047 Unable to read preferences for the requested interface. Please use another repository and/or ProjectAccess Interface. Resolving the problem This happens due to a corrupt bmt.ini file in <Install Location>/c8/configuration directory. This issue can be resolved by extracting bmt.ini from last known good backup or even from installation files.
